About Call of Duty: Zombies (NZ:P) and the linked project

Nazi Zombies: Portable recreates the round-based survival ideas of Call of Duty: World at War using enhanced Quake-engine forks. The team has developed the project since 2009. It aims for similar core gameplay while documenting differences and incomplete map coverage; do not expect the entire commercial Call of Duty catalogue.

Getting Started with Call of Duty: Zombies (NZ:P)

01

Launch the supplied build

Open the team-hosted page and allow its engine and game packages to download. If the start control is shown, select Click To Begin. Wait for the game menu before judging whether loading has failed.

02

Review the controls before a round

Use the in-game options to inspect movement, fire, use, reload and equipment bindings. Assign comfortable keys before starting. Specific bindings can differ between builds and are not independently verified here.

03

Learn the survival loop

Choose an available map, inspect barricades and purchase prompts, and watch your points and ammunition. Start with one solo round to check movement, damage, audio and interaction before investigating cooperative play.

Controls & Input Requirements

These inputs describe the linked project or original game. Follow the platform-specific notes and the primary documentation before starting.

Technology, Files & Platform Requirements

Separate engine and gameplay packages

The web launcher references default.fmf, nzp/game.pk3 and nzp/progs.pk3, then loads ftewebgl.js. The browser therefore needs more than the initial HTML response.

Gameplay is configurable

The project’s JSON configuration supports map-specific rules and overlays. Health regeneration, item costs and round timing can change, so a particular map should not be treated as universal evidence for every build.

A demake with its own scope

NZ:P’s own README places World at War at its center, with limited additions from Black Ops. It does not claim every original map or feature is implemented.

Troubleshooting

Stuck at downloading

Check the browser’s failed network requests for engine or PK3 packages. Retry on a stable connection and compare the upstream issue tracker; a successful HTML check does not establish that game assets arrived.

Controls or audio appear inactive

Click the game area to focus it and try a fresh user interaction. Review the in-game binding and volume settings before restarting. Record browser and map details if the failure repeats.

Custom map has no moving enemies

Consult the mapper documentation: NZ:P uses waypoint files for zombie pathfinding. Begin diagnosis with a supplied map, then check the custom map’s BSP and accompanying waypoint data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the official Call of Duty browser edition?

No. NZ:P is the team’s independent demake. The catalogue keeps the familiar Call of Duty search term while identifying the actual project and source.

Do I need World at War installed?

The linked WebGL launcher supplies its NZ:P game packages. This does not grant or require access to the complete commercial World at War campaign.

Can I assume multiplayer works?

No. Network availability and cooperative gameplay need their own browser session and another player. No multiplayer result is claimed here.

What has actually been checked?

The project identity, published browser endpoint and documentation were researched. Rendering, input, a completed round and long-session stability have not been tested by this directory.
