OpenSA public demo closed; no launch verified
Get Official Edition opens the commercial store. OpenSA Project Notice opens the developer’s closure notice. No playable browser endpoint or free preloaded San Andreas demo is verified here.

Carl “CJ” Johnson returns to Los Santos in the early 1990s and is drawn into a journey across San Andreas to protect his family. Driving, missions and open-world exploration define the game. The current official Trilogy edition is an installed commercial release. OpenSA was a separate experimental browser engine; its public website now announces closure, so this page does not present it as a working full-game browser launch.

The Steam release requires Windows, a Rockstar Games account and local installation. Review the current system requirements on its store page before purchase. This directory does not start, install or stream that release.
OpenSA’s public endpoint states that the project ran from 4 June to 25 August 2026 and its demo is unavailable. A readable repository fork preserves technical documentation; it does not establish a live hosted game or complete story compatibility.
These inputs describe the linked project or original game. Follow the platform-specific notes and the primary documentation before starting.
| ACTION | INPUT | NOTES |
|---|---|---|
| Movement / driving | Use the selected edition’s controls menu | There is no verified browser build whose keyboard layout we can promise. |
| Aim / camera / interaction | Review the in-game control scheme | The Definitive Edition uses revised GTA V-style controls and targeting. |
| Original console reference | Rockstar San Andreas manual | The linked PS3 manual describes that edition, not PC or browser bindings. |
The preserved project README describes a TypeScript / three.js engine for RenderWare-style assets with Rapier physics. This supports a description of an experimental engine; it does not support the former mock claim of a full preloaded WebAssembly sandbox.
The preserved setup documentation asks for a legitimate San Andreas v1.0 installation and documents local folder selection in Chromium. It lists models, textures, collision, animation and world data. No compatibility with Definitive Edition assets is claimed.
Rockstar’s Trilogy offers upgraded lighting, textures, draw distances and revised controls. Its PC release is an installed product; browser support is not listed as an official platform.
Official editions; OpenSA public demo closed
This is a researched reference guide. Official purchase links, native downloads and cloud services are labeled separately from browser engine ports. No HTTP monitoring or gameplay verification is claimed for an unregistered browser project.

That is the developer’s published notice. Do not treat the old repository’s demo link as evidence of an active service. Use the official edition link if your goal is to play the commercial game.
First identify the exact engine, supported game version and expected data format. Ownership alone does not establish compatibility. The old OpenSA documentation specifically named the original v1.0 installation.
Check the selected platform’s system requirements and Rockstar account access. Use Rockstar Support for launcher or entitlement problems; browser cache or pointer-lock fixes do not apply to an installed game.
No verified free full-game browser offering is provided. Store links require the entitlement and installation described by the publisher.
No. The notice describes that project’s public service. Other experiments need their own identity, file requirements and gameplay verification before being listed as launchable.
No. These are official Definitive Edition promotional assets. They illustrate the game and edition and are explicitly separate from browser validation.
Do not assume that. The preserved OpenSA setup guide requires original San Andreas v1.0 data. The two editions are treated separately here.
